About Shorewood Church of God
Shorewood Church of God is a group of individuals who share the same passion:
Loving God, Loving Each Other and Serving the World.
We believe that growing closer to God happens in the most dramatic way when those three steps are taken with a spirit of unity and grace. Sunday mornings represent our desire to connect with God as one body. The seats are filled with people who are at every level of the journey....Some learning to love God through worship...some eager to take the next step and get to know others in small groups...some are ready to begin serving others by volunteering on a ministry team...some are committed to the process and taking their relationship with God and their ministries to the next level..some are still undecided and just enjoy hearing and watching what God is doing in the lives of the people here at SCOG and all over the world.

Shorewood Church of God Celebrates 50 Years:
In September of 2009, Shorewood Church of God reached its 50 year milestone. Under the leadership of Interim Pastor Chuck Wanner, the congregation celebrated its 50th anniversary by recognizing its sole charter member, Lowell Golliher, for his faithfullness to our congregation.

Shorewood Church of God began as a congregation of nine families in 1959, who for the first several months met in different homes. In March of 1961, Otis Cross Sr. was called as the first official pastor of the congregation that had moved into Troy-Shorewood Grade School.
In March of 1962, Arthur Miller became Shorewood Church of God's second pastor. Pastor Miller led the congregation through the construction of thier first building which was occupied on Easter Sunday in 1963.
The growth of the congregation continued to flourish and a new addition to the facility began in April of 1984 under the leadership of Pastor Lewis Kujawski.
In all, Shorewood Church of God has been home to seven senior pastors and is currently in a time of transition to find its 8th. In April of 2009, Pastor Eric Livingston, who had faithfull led the congregation for twenty-one years, resigned to take the position of the State Minister of Illinois.
We are extremely grateful for the pastors who have been part of our church's history, and look forward to the leadership of those that God has appointed for our future.
